About Unicom Graphics

History
In the year that Thomas
Edison and Joseph Swan formed the United Electric Light Company and
three years before Karl Benz built the first gasoline-burning car, a
small print shop was founded in a place that was a 'fort' near the
river. The year was 1883 and the fort, where the railroad had just
arrived, was Calgary. More than a century later that same print shop
exists as one of Calgary's most modern printing companies. Their name?
Unicom Graphics.
The secret to Unicom's
longevity is our commitment to progress. Retailing tycoon Edward Filene
once said, "The keynote of progress is not merely doing away with what
is bad; it is replacing the best with something better." This philosophy
has become Unicom's driving force as we grow and adapt to the needs of
our customers. During the next century the business of printing will
change faster than ever before. The crystal ball reveals a print shop
evolving into an imaging centre; the co-configuration of the desktop
computer and printing press; and a completely new way of putting 'ink on
paper.' Unicom's success hinges on our ability to adapt to the new image
landscape, and based on the last century, the future looks promising.
And the present? Unicom is proud to be a trusted supplier
for many North American businesses and organizations, both large and
small. Our company's mission is a firm commitment: to provide quality,
craftsmanship and unbeatable value today, tomorrow and centuries to
come.
